What Type of Private Jordan Tours Can a Ryan Air Traveler Arrange?
Ryan Air’s flights to Jordan offer a huge variety of options for private Jordan tours. The riches of Jordan run deep, and no matter how long you stay here there will be more to discover. Whether you are already packing for your Jordan tour, or just beginning to explore your options, these tour ideas will get you excited for your trip. Below is a seven day custom tour suggestion beginning and ending in Amman (read on for a four day tour starting from Aqaba).
Note that these are suggestions. Personalized tours are recommended to coincide with your specific interests and flight times.
Day 1: Arrival and Amman
Many flights arrive in Amman late morning. Flights from Bologna, Italy, for example, land between 10:50am (Tuesdays) and 11:35am (Saturdays). This will set you up nicely for a tour of the Citadel followed by the Roman theater of Amman. Afterwards, have lunch at one of these local favorites: Sharhazad for the carnivorous (grilled meats), or Hashem’s for vegetarian (falafel, hummus, and other delights). Spend the rest of the afternoon roaming downtown Amman before checking into your hotel for the evening.
Day 2: Jerash, Ajloun Castle, and a village cooking experience
This morning your driver will escort you to Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. After touring these remarkable ruins, you will head north to tour Ajloun Castle, built by the nephew of famous Arab general Saladin. From there your personal driver will take you to a nearby village where you will join a local family in preparing dinner. Dine with this delightful Jordanian family before returning to Amman.
As an option, we suggest a homestay with an Arab family. There is no better way to experience a place than by engaging with exceptional locals. A homestay here is often one of the most rewarding experiences for our guests.
Day 3: Petra
There is a reason why Petra is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It is utterly unique, and its scope is staggering. You could spend a week in this ancient stone city and discover something new each day. Today you will enter Petra via the “Siq”, a kilometer and a half walk through a rose red canyon that culminates in the majestic Treasury. Spend the rest of the day exploring this ancient wonder before being escorted to a Bedouin camp located within the Petra Archaeological Reserve. You will have dinner served in a goat hair tent and enjoy endless sweet tea around the fire.
Day 4: Camel trek and Bedouin Hike
Today your camels will be waiting outside your tent. Mount up and make your way through a seldom used back entrance near Little Petra. After an hour ride, you will dismount and a local Bedouin will escort you the rest of the way up the mountain to Petra’s Monastery (pictured above). You will feel like you discover Petra for yourself as you enter far from all other tourists. Tonight you will overnight again in the Bedouin camp.
Day 5: Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is breathtaking. After a one and a half hour drive from Petra, your Bedouin host and professional guide will take you on a 4×4 tour of the desert. Scramble up sandstone boulders, view ancient petroglyphs, and take in an otherworldly sunset. We recommend you camp privately in the desert with our Bedouin guide away from tourists.
Day 6: Dead Sea
Jordan’s Dead Sea is home to some of the finest luxury resorts in the country. Enjoy a full day of floating in the unique waters of the Dead Sea, lounging by the pools, and a much needed spa treatment after your Jordan adventure.
Day 7: Departure from Queen Alia International Airport
With many Ryan Air flights departing Amman midday, you’ll have time to enjoy a lazy breakfast before heading to Amman’s Queen Alia International airport for your departure.
Custom Jordan Tour Suggestion for Ryan Air Flights to Aqaba
Aqaba provides an excellent hub for discovering southern Jordan. Below is a four day suggested itinerary based on Ryan Air flights into and out of Aqaba. These tour options are fully customizable based on your interests.
Day 1: Arrival and the Red Sea
Upon arrival your private driver will escort you from the airport to one of the finest resorts on the Red Sea. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the opportunity to snorkel, scuba, or stroll the sandy beach of the Red Sea.
Day 2: Wadi Rum
After your sprawling breakfast, enjoy a laid back morning on the beach before heading to the nearby Wadi Rum desert. After lunch in the home of your Bedouin host, you’ll be taken on a 4×4 tour of the desert. Include some short hikes and scambline up sandstone before settling in for a star filled evening near the fire. We recommend private camping in the desert but there are a variety of other overnight options depending on what type of accommodations you prefer.
Day 3: Petra
Petra is unforgettable. This ancient stone city continues to stun visitors. Today you will experience a full day tour with a professional Bedouin tour guide who grew up in the area. This evening you will overnight in a Bedouin camp run by a local tribal cooperative and located within the Petra Archeological Reserve. As an option, we can arrange for an evening meal in a local Bedouin home in the nearby village.
Day 4: Departure
Your private driver will take you from the camp to the Aqaba airport for your departure.
Four days is just enough to whet your appetite for more of Jordan. After your southern experience, take advantage of Ryan Air’s low cost flights for your next holiday and explore northern Jordan.
